The Dawning Light is our brand-new Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition (2014) actual play campaign from the Creative Play and Podcast Network, where faith is the greatest weapon—and hope may be the last light left in a dying world.
For four centuries, the eastern continent has languished beneath the shadow of the immortal Blood King, the first known vampire. His armies of undead, monsters, and corrupted nobles rule a land of haunted forests, cursed villages, forgotten kingdoms, and broken faith. Once before, the Church of Radiance launched a great crusades to end his reign... and it failed.
Now, eight years since the 2nd crusade, a new generation answers the call.
Five clerics, each devoted to a different god but united beneath the banner of the Church, sail east as part of the Crusade of the Dawning Light. Their holy mission is simple to declare—but nearly impossible to achieve: survive the cursed land, rekindle hope among its people, reunite with the scattered heroes of the First Crusade, recover sacred relics, and ultimately confront the Blood King within the dark halls of Bloodstone Keep.
Before the crusade can even reach the shore, an unnatural storm scatters the fleet, leaving the heroes shipwrecked and alone in a kingdom where the dead refuse to rest, ancient evils stir beneath forgotten ruins, and every path hides new horrors. Will they rally the people against tyranny, uncover the truth behind the Blood King's tragic past, and succeed where countless heroes have failed?
Inspired by classic gothic fantasy and dark adventure, The Dawning Light blends epic heroism, grim horror, mystery, exploration, and unforgettable roleplaying into a long-form actual play campaign. Expect desperate battles against vampires and undead, haunted wilderness expeditions, ancient dwarven and elven ruins, difficult moral choices, divine miracles, and a story where every victory brings a fragile spark of hope to a world consumed by darkness.
Join us each episode as we forge legends, challenge the night, and discover whether the light of faith can overcome the darkness of eternity.
